Company founder and President Tim Shipleys resume began in the eighties as an early adaptor of building strategies including design, site selection, building envelope, advanced insulation, foundations, heating, air conditioning and ventilation to list just a few. Tim holds the highest professional designations available in green building including LEED AP and Green Build Professional. He built the WPXI Concept Home in 2006, Southwestern Pas first net zero home and many other energy efficient homes since founding the company in 2000. Check out our bios for more detail.
Tim graduated from West Virginia Wesleyan in 1980 with a degree in business administration and a minor in economics. His first job was in the real estate group at Snowshoe Mountain Resort, W. Va. The harsh environment atop a 4,848 foot mountain prompted the need to identify new building methods. Tim was involved in vetting and choosing these techniques long before there was a green movement. He then joined American Resort Services working on multi-family projects in West Virginia, Texas, Florida and finally at Hidden Valley, Pa.
Tim moved with his wife Marcia to California in 1986 and started a real estate consulting business helping retail and office clients efficiently manage and refine their real estate holdings. This entity was sold to Ernst and Young in 1996. He relocated to Pa in 2000 and joined his brother Neal to form Shipley Brothers Development, the parent company of SureGreen Construction. The company is responsible for the Lake MacLeod development in Pine Township. The project has gained the reputation as the premier custom home community in Allegheny County. SureGeen Construction has built numerous homes in the plan.
Today Tim continues to partner with clients to guide them through the process of designing and building a custom home, addition or renovation. He lives in Pine with Marcia, his wife and companion of over thirty years. They have two grown sons, Alex and Ross.
